I get plenty of questions when travelling to Perth. Most times it’s the same few questions about what to take note of and I thought I’d do a short blogpost for everyone for easy referencing. I’ll be splitting this whole Perth facts thing into a couple of different post, but here’s the things you need to to know before travelling to Perth
我常常会被问到去珀斯的一些问题，就有什么要注意的，有什么该做的。我就想说趁这次旅游，就来个珀斯记，来记载下去一些要点，让有想去珀斯的人可以做参考。我会把这个blogpost 分成几个不同的文章，这次就来个去珀斯要注意点什么吧
Getting There
First and foremost you’ll have to get your tickets purchased, unless you found a way to swim there or fly there without an airplane. I find Airasia always has great deals to fly to Perth, but if it wasn’t during their sale period, def do check out other airlines as Airasia prices can add up to quite a bit after adding your travel insurance( please don’t uncheck this unless you’ve got your personal travel insurance) and luggage weight.
Then you will have to sort out your eVisa. There are countless ways to doing it, and plenty of 3rd party options online, but I personally prefer going to your nearest travel agency to have them applied as I’ve not tried 3rd party applications, and do not know if it’s actually legit. Keep a copy on your phone, or print it out if it makes you feel safer.
As for your driving license, so long if you have a bilingual/english translated license you’d be good.So if you are still on your old driving lic, def get them renewed to be able to rent a car in Perth without any hassle.
Then you will have to sort out your eVisa. 首先就是要买机票啦，当然你如果还有其他方式去到珀斯，记得留言。 通常还是亚航比较便宜，但是亚航如果没有优惠价的时候，其他航空也是个不错的选择。记得不要忘了买旅游保险哦。

I guess the most important thing is that we can get our devices charged up. Unfortunately for us, Australia (Oz) uses a different plug, so you will need a converter. I find the easiest way, is to bring one converter, and an extension so you can do multiple charging at a time
SUNBLOCK SUNBLOCK SUNBLOCK!!
I cannot stress how important this one is, trust me, even during cloudy days you are risking to getting yourself sunburnt if you stay under the sun for too long. If you don’t trust me and still think you have rhino’s thick skin, go ahead and I’d love to see you turn into a lobster in just a day with red skin and all esp during summer. Also keeping in mind that the weather there can be quite drying esp during winter so you’ll need a bottle of lotion to avoid your skin itching.
Then of course with sunblock you will need your sunnies. Perth gets plenty of sunlight and a pair of good sunnies is very important to protect your eyes. Oh just to add on , if you are going in summer you might want to bring insect repellant, the flies gets ridiculously annoying during summer.
Then you will need your bathers and your sandals and a bathmat with you in the car if you are driving. Of course unless you are going in winter and have no desire of getting into the water, I’d suggest you have them kept with you in your car at all times. I like my bathers from Malibu Beachwear, they are superb cute
I would suggest changing money in Malaysia but you will find that most places in Perth takes credit cards and if you’ve got your paywave activated, it’s easy.

然后就是你的泳衣啦，我自己喜欢在 Malibu Beachwear 买泳衣，很漂亮而且很舒服。也不要忘了带拖鞋和浴巾。我个人觉得车上放泳衣装备是个不错的选择，不然每次去到海边就会后悔自己没带了衣服来换了
换钱嘛，还是大马换好了比较便宜。很多地方都会收卡哦，所以你卡如果有paywave，会更方便了。
When You Are There
Getting through customs can be quite intimidating, oz has a very strict rule about bringing things into the country so you want to make sure you do not bring dairy products with you. If you can avoid bringing food all together, do it as it will smoothen out the process. If you have to bring them, declare it to avoid getting into unnecessary trouble
When driving, OBEY THE SPEED LIMIT! I know this can be difficult esp with our Malaysia speed limit rule, but trust me, getting a fine is no fun, esp when the currency rate is about 1:3.4 atm. Watch out for pedestrian on ZEBRA CROSSING. STOP if you see someone trying to cross the road. Watch out for incoming traffic if you are turning right. If your traffic light is green without the turn right arrow, then it means the incoming traffic light is also green.If you are parking and the sign says 1P ticket, that means you can park for an hour but you will need to buy tickets. If it’s just 1P , that means its an hour free parking.Make use of the CAT if you are in the city as travelling within the CBD area is free. You can find more info here. Link : here

入境的时候可能会比较恐怖。澳洲自己本身对外来物品都很严格，所以你如果带了食物，都需要declare， 奶质产品通常都不会让带进去的，所以务必留意。最好是不带啦啊，那过境的时候也比较方便，当然如果有原因的，请记得记得不要以为自己很幸运可以不经过inspection，如果被捉到了，罚款也够你烦了。

Things To Take Note
Tap water is free, bottled waters aren’t, and they are freaking pricy. So if you want to save some money, just ask for tap water in the restaurant and they will provide it to you FOC. We usually just drink from tap water but if you are a little hesitant, you can always bring those water bottle that has a filter in it and use it there.

澳洲自来水是免费的，所以如果到了餐厅不想买罐装水的话（很贵）可以要求tap water. 澳洲人有很爱简说的习惯，所以很多用语会有稍微不同。
Things You Should Try
澳洲超市其实也蛮多东西买的，你要的话可以尝试这几样东西。。
Sipahh – put this into your milk and have your milk change flavour! great way to get your kids to try milk if they don’t fancy milk taste. 其实也就是个吸管，如果把吸管放入你的牛奶，牛奶也会变味道哦～如果小孩子对牛奶有点抗拒，可以考虑给他们这个
Milk – Personally huge fan of the milk in Oz, fresh, creamy and honestly the best! 个人就很喜欢澳洲的牛奶。超好喝的
Yogurt – Of course if the milk is good, the products made of it will also be good. Try their yogurt if you are a huge fan of milk products.奶质产品当然也会比较好吃，喜欢yogurt 的人可以尝试这边的yogurt
Seafood – Love their seafood!Gotta try their chilli mussles and scallops! 个人觉得海鲜都很好吃，分量也不小，chilli mussels 和scallops 是我个人会推荐吃的
Long Mac topped up- if you are a coffee lover, you should try their long macchiato topped up. I believe this is a very perth way of having their coffee.
Chai Latte – If you like chai and you like lattes, you gotta try this. Not sure why it’s so difficult to find good ones in KL but man this is such a treat in colder times.
Lemon Lime Bitters – lemonade with a little more flavour to it. Love it!
Sparklers – only because they are so darn difficult to find in KL. 仙女棒，超市都可以买到，可以考虑买来玩哦
